The design inspiration is from the ancient Greek mythological creature called the Cyclop. The Cyclop was a creature with a human being appearance but with an eye in the middle of its face.

The notion of the “evil eye” also known as “mataki” (little eye in Greek) is firmly rooted in Greek folklore, dating back to classical antiquity. The term was, in fact, mentioned by such prominent ancient Greek figures as Hesiod, Callimachus, Plato, Theocritus and Plutarch.
